Passed away peacefully on Thursday March 17th 2022 at the age of 60, with Julie at his side.
Treasured husband of Julie Pedneault-Deslauriers and loving father of Nolan McLeod. Cherished brother and son of Ann McLeod and Louise Rapson. He will be missed by the McLeod, Pedneault, Deslauriers, and Rapson families, and by friends too numerous to count.
Ken will forever be remembered for his sense of humour, his kind soul, his brilliant career as a leading scholar in the field of popular music, his loyalty to his loved ones, and his incredible courage. He loved the arts, he loved music; he loved his colleagues, friends, and students; most of all he loved his family.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) on Saturday, March 26, from11am-1pm and/or to attend a service to commemorate his life at 1pm, followed by a reception. Ken’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude for everyone’s support, as well as heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stéphane Dadjo, the medical team at The Ottawa Hospital, the wonderful staff at the May Court Hospice, and the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto for establishing the Ken McLeod Fund to continue Ken’s legacy and support popular music studies at UoT.
