Obituary for Kevin Byrne Figley
Passed away suddenly at home on June 1, 2020 at the age of 65. Beloved husband for 32 years of Peggy (Ledden), loving father of Sean and Conor. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, Clare Taylor (John) of Melbourne, Australia, his twin brother Campbell of Ottawa, Maureen Harrington (Roger) of Summerland BC and Erin of Vancouver BC. He is survived by nieces and nephews too numerous to name but Uncle Kevin was beloved by each and every one.
Kevin was a long time employee of the City of Ottawa, retired for two years. In that time, he and Peggy traveled the world, most recently returning from South America in March. He was an avid cyclist who enjoyed a 60km ride the day before his passing. Kevin was a man with a big heart who could be counted on for help, support or just a joke. When asked how he was doing, his usual response was “Too modest to say”.
In these days of COVID, we will have to postpone a celebration of Kevin’s life. When circumstances permit, we will let Kevin’s many friends and extended family know the details. Donations to the MS Society of Canada gratefully accepted.
