A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm, June 7, 2022 at Rideau Park United Church, 2203 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa for Jean Matheson.  Jean passed away peacefully at Revera Alta Vista, Ottawa on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the age of 97 years.  Beloved wife of the late Hugh Matheson (2004). Loving mother of The Reverend Bob Matheson (Ann) of Belleville, Judy Beddoes (Jonathan) of Parksville BC, and Marilyn Matheson of Ottawa.  Jean was predeceased by her daughters Christina Ruth Jones (David) and Linda Susan Curran (Jim), her granddaughter Jennifer Matheson, and brother Ross Moffatt. Jean was Past President and Honourary Member, Royal Heraldry of Canada. During her career she was Executive Director to several not- for-profit organizations, the most recent being the Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus for 25 years, retiring in her 90th year. Jean is lovingly remembered by her sisters Isabel Balon (Peter) and Susan Benn (Douglas) both of Ottawa as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Donations in Jean’s honour to the Caldwell Family Centre will be graciously accepted.
