Obituary for Marcia Almey (Krantzberg)

Died peacefully in her sleep at 81 years of age.
Marcia was a highly accomplished woman with a host of interests, including classical music (especially opera), art, architecture, literature, fashion and politics. She was also a brilliant cook and wine connoisseur. Not only was she an outstanding student in her academic years, her passion for learning continued until she died.
She enjoyed a long career in the federal government, working mainly at Statistics Canada on the communications and consultations for the 1991 census and analyzing data on social policy issues including women, seniors and visible minorities, Indigenous groups, family and youth.
Marcia leaves her sister Joan and her partner Fred Peters of Toronto, as well as her aunt Clair Krantzberg and numerous cousins in Ottawa, Chelsea, Montreal, Toronto, Banff, Victoria, Colorado and other U.S. states. Her beloved cat, Lula, has been given to another cat lover.
Marcia chose to be cremated. In accordance with current Covid protocols, there will be no service.
