Obituary for Marion Bertha Merkley (née Barber)
Marion Bertha Merkley (née Barber) passed away peacefully on October 19, 2020, at age 94.
Marion was born April 16, 1926 in Marvelville, Ontario. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Douglas Cameron Merkley, her eldest son, Ian, her brother Kenneth Barber, and her sister Agnes Woodward, and brother-in-law Fred Woodward.
Marion will be deeply missed by her daughter Christy (Gary), two sons, John and Robert (Susan), and four grandchildren, Jillian, Cameron, Rebecca (Jeremy) and Victoria, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Cité Parkway Retirement Residence.
A private memorial service will be held next week and a celebration of life will be held when possible. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
