Obituary for Nelson B. Whitman
WHITMAN, Nelson B.
Nelson Whitman, aged 92 years of Ottawa, Ontario passed away at home on March 28, 2021. A proud Nova Scotian, Nelson was born and raised in North Wallace, Nova Scotia. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years, Vivian (Stevens) of Pugwash River, Nova Scotia, his four sons Bernard (Wendy), Brian (Linda), David (Dolores), and Danny. He was a loving grandfather to 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, much loved by many nieces and nephews, and he will be greatly missed by his four legged companion Millie. He is predeceased by his father Nelson W. Whitman and mother Stella A. Whitman (Patton), by his sister Ina (Craib) and his 4 brothers Wallace, Irvin, Darrel and Allister. Nelson proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 30+ years. The Whitman family would like to thank the first responders who worked so hard to keep dad with us, and the team at Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, Ottawa. Interment to be arranged at a later date, in Pugwash River, Nova Scotia. A family “Celebration of Life” will take place at a later date.
