Obituary for Rheal Joseph "Ray" Lalonde

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ray, age 93, in his home on Thursday, November 12, 2020. He was predeceased by his beloved Marion, his wife of 64 years. He is survived by his children Bernadette Lyons (the late Fergus), Barry (Sandra Bovard), Debbie Maillet (Pierre), Danny (Cheryl Newton), Gloria Dickie (Richard). He was a loving brother (11), Grampa (11), Great-Grampa(19) and Great-Great Grampa(3). He sure set the bar high in each of these roles!

Ray worked at Clark Dairy Ltd. for 44 years. It was this work that sparked his love of milk bottle and dairy memorabilia collecting. He helped establish The Ottawa Milk Bottle Association so that like minded collectors could come together to share this passion. He will also be remembered for all his work with the Glebe Annex, especially for his role in the construction of the local park for the neighborhood children as well as his love of antiques.

We would like to thank all the family and friends and a special thanks to Dr. Jen Lamont and all the doctors, PSWs and nurses who worked tirelessly together to make possible Ray’s wish to remain in his home until it was time to join Marion.

At a future date, a celebration of Ray’s life will be held for all those who wish to honour him…We love you Dad! You will be greatly missed by all that knew you.

Donations can be made in his honour to CHEO.
