"Dick"
Dick departed this life at the May Court Hospice Care Centre, with his family at his side, on Sunday, April 24, 2022.
Dick is survivedby his loving wife, Jackie, and their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Les (Valerie); Nancy (Brock); Helen; Candice (Brett); Caitlin (Ryan); Katrina; Landon; Levi; Lincoln; Emma; Owen. He will be greatly missed by his brother, Earl (of North Bay); brother-in-law, Garry (of Peterborough); many nieces and nephews and four Godsons, Terry, Gordon, Hiep and Hau; as well as many friends.
Dick was the go-to "Mr. Fix-it" at Trinity Anglican Church and responded to all calls for all trades from renovations to plugged sinks to burned out light bulbs. Other duties at various times included Warden, Treasurer for 20 years; sound and heating systems monitor.
He was invited to join D. S. Fraser & Company, Ottawa in 1960 and worked his way up to manager of the main branch, followed by facility manager for building new branches and renovating others.
Our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Heart Institute for two months of care during the Covid pandemic. End-of-life care for the last two months of his life at Hospice Care Ottawa were special in every way, an answer to our prayers, and very much appreciated.
A private family burial under the direction of Reverend Mark Whittall, and Hulse, Playfair & McGarry took place at Capital Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Wednesday, April 27th. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, Cameron Avenue at 1230 Bank Street, Ottawa, on Saturday, May 21st at 11 a.m. - Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Trinity Anglican Church or to Hospice Care Ottawa.

We wish to thank our many relatives and friends for their thoughts, prayers, drives, calls, cards, notes, and flowers that you so kindly supported us with throughout Dick's four months of bed-care in hospital following his heart attack, and since his passing.
God bless you for caring, we cannot thank you enough.
