Obituary for Robert John Green

Passed away peacefully at Royal Ottawa Place Long Term Care on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 in his 83rd year. A native of the Ottawa Valley, Robert enjoyed travelling and fondly told stories of his time in the States where he was employed and spent a number of years there before returning to Canada to be with family.

Robert enjoyed the outdoors, swimming, boating, and watching baseball games at local diamonds. Robert was also musically inclined and at a young age attained a grade 13 Royal Conservatory of Music.

Robert will be lovingly remembered by his sister Linda Lou (Stephen) Boyd and half-sisters Diana Green and Melissa Schilf and half-brother John (Angela) Green as well as his brother-in-law Dan Ross. Robert will also be fondly remembered by his nieces Tara (Denis) Ettinger, Laura Green, Riley (Mike) MacAngus, Avery Schilf, Emily Green, and nephews Paul Ross, Scott (Heather) Ross, John Nagora, and Adam Green as well as his great nieces Emily Ross, Ariel Nagora, Michaela Ettinger, Madison Ettinger, and Parker MacAngus and great nephews Blake Ross, Brandon Ross, and Sawyer MacAngus. Robert was predeceased by his parents A.J. Green and Mary Edna Cahill, his sister Beverly Ross, his brother-in-law Roger Schilf, and his niece Crystal Nagora.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff, physicians, and support staff of the Royal Ottawa Place for providing exceptional care of Robert. Robert was one of the first residents of the home and during his extended stay, was fully supported there by all. During the pandemic the staff ensured a healthful mindset by accommodating virtual family visits and activities to keep the resident’s spirits up.

Robert will be put to rest Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 2:30pm at the Wesley United Cemetery in Pembroke, ON.
