Obituary for Romeo St. Martin

Romeo St. Martin has passed away at age 52, due to a heart attack. Romeo was born May 2, 1969, in Sudbury and adopted by Romeo and Albertine St. Martin. Romeo is survived by his three sisters, Claire Watson, Carmen St. Martin, and Sue Johnson.

After a short stint at the Sudbury Star, Romeo moved to Ottawa to attend Carleton University and pursue being a journalist. Romeo edited the Charlatan while at school, and later he co-founded a media analysis business. Romeo’s love of journalism and politics would merge when he became a reporter covering federal politics.  At the time of his death, Romeo was the communications officer for the Canadian Nuclear Association.

Friends will remember Romeo for his humor, his fierce intelligence, and his courage to speak his mind.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Romeo’s life in the McGarry Family Reception Centre at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor), Ottawa. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 4:00p.m. - 6:00p.m.  Words of Remembrance will be given at 5:00pm.  Masks are mandatory and social distancing must be respected.
