Rosita Violetta (Vicky) Tamarit-Belanger

April 4, 1941 – July 24, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, who passed away at home, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side, at the age of 81.  Wife of the late Clifford Jeffrey Belanger.  Mom to Patrick Owens (Anastasia), Angela Owens, and the late Daniel Owens (Andrea) of Ottawa.  Cherished Grandma to Jesse, Kevin, Nicoletta, Natasha, Justin and Juliana. Daughter of the late Vicente Tamarit Lechago and Angelita Ruiz Garcia. Sister of Raymond Tamarit, Marie Tamarit Myers (Gerard), Andre Tamarit, the late Vincent Tamarit (Joanne), and the late Angel Tamarit.  Fondly remembered by many relatives and friends.  

Born in Castres, France, Vicky immigrated to Canada with her family at an early age. She spent many years working for the City of Ottawa in child care and recreation, and was the proud owner of Tiny Tot Daycare on Somerset St. in Centretown, Ottawa.  Her passion for flowers led her to own and operate Hintonburg Florist, a flower shop in Ottawa’s Hintonburg community, where she specialized in wedding flowers. 

A private celebration of life will be held for immediate family and close friends.

A very special thank you to the staff at the Community Palliative Medicine Associates, Home and Community Support Services Champlain, and Carefor Health & Community Services for the excellent care and support over the past few months.
