Obituary for Roy Lyman Honeywell

Following a brief illness, Roy passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Robert Clements Honeywell and Ada Honeywell (McGregor), brother Allan Robert and beloved daughter Dianne. He was the devoted husband to the late Jacqueline Rose (Charlebois) and will be deeply missed by his sons and their partners, Kenneth (Doral), Peter (Rose Mary) and Paul (Tammy). Roy was a long-time employee of Bell Canada. He and Jackie spent many years entertaining friends and enjoying family activities at their home on the Rideau River. Retirement life included boating and socializing with the Ryan family on Big Rideau Lake and spending winters on Anna Maria Island in Florida. Roy loved being on the water and patiently taught many children the joy of swimming and waterskiing. He was a great golfer and often scored at par and even had 2 holes-in-one in a single year. He also loved bowling, darts and billiards. For the past 14 years he was a resident at the Revera Landmark Court Retirement Residence, where he developed many close friendships with staff and residents. Thanks goes to those who enriched his life. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service was held followed by burial at the Pinecrest Cemetery. Donations in Roy’s memory can be made to a charity of your choice.
