Shawn Allan Patrick McDonald, 51, of Kemptville, Ontario, passed away on Wednesday, May 27th, 2020, at Ottawa General Hospital in tranquility and wrapped in the arms and eternal love of his family. While Shawn had been waging a strong and courageous battle against cancer, he went peacefully and pain-free in the end.
Born February 13, 1969, in Chatham, ON, he was the son of Gary and Monica McDonald.
Loving and devoted husband to Tracy (Somr) of 28 years, proud father of Megan, Melissa, and Matthew; and caring brother to Shannon (Clapp), Anthony, Douglas and Sean (Somr); “jokester” uncle to Piper and Cobi (Clapp), Ethan, Evan and Ean (Somr).

Shawn will be forever missed and live lovingly in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched.He will be remembered for his dynamic personality – his gregarious smile, his sense of humour and the integrity that he brought to everything that he did. He truly had a gift for always making people happy.
Go gently my handsome hero - may your wheels always speed safely wherever you go, and your music rock out into the wind - go gently my friend.
Due to restrictions with COVID-19 at this time, visitation is reserved for immediate family. Cremation to follow. As restrictions ease a Celebration of life will take place.
