Sheldon Cherner

May 27, 1948 - June 6, 2022

On June 6, 2022, Sheldon passed away peacefully at Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Irene, and his cherished daughters, Rebecca (Alexander Anglin) and Nora (Jon Zuber). He was thrilled to be Gub to James and Gubby to Quinn. Sheldon took great pride and satisfaction in being the voice of children as a lawyer with the Office of the Children’s Lawyer. Other interests included reading, music (classical, opera, and jazz), and cooking. For more than 15 years, he was a key member of the Magnificent Bastards trivia team, where the rule was “Always listen to Sheldon.” We will miss his intelligence, integrity, and quirky humour. Cremation has taken place and there will be a small, private gathering at a later date. If desired, donations can be made to Amnesty International or Bruyère Foundation.
