Obituary for Shirley Isabell Hunter (Redmond)
Shirley Isabelle Hunter of Ottawa, Ontario died peacefully at 11:00 PM on Thursday the 13th of February 2020. She was born on the 25th of August 1931 in Winchester, Ontario the daughter of Donald and Mildred Redmond. She completed high school, enjoyed participating in many sports and met her future husband Roger Hunter, a hockey player with the Inkerman Rockets. They were married on the 13th of June 1951. Shirley had two children, 6 grand children and 3 great grand children.
Shirley worked for the Ottawa Board of Education for many years, and as a young adult participated in many sports but most of all loved to watch hockey and cheer on the Ottawa Senators. She was a season ticket holder and regularly attended games. Shirley will be missed by all who knew her.
Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod St. (at O’Connor) between 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM on Monday, February 17, 2020 followed by a Celebration of Life in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM.
