It is with the heaviest of hearts that we sadly announce the passing of Shirley Siew Khuan Wong on April 13th, 2022. Shirley is predeceased by her mother, Mei Teng. She is survived by her loving husband, Albert, her sons Kenny (Leanne) and Jimmy (Brenda), and her daughter, Emily (Eugene). She was the dear sister of Judy, Siew Tee, Benny, Steven, Florence, Gin Tak and Lan. She will be missed dearly by her grandsons Patrick and Brandon.

Shirley was a devoted mother and worked two full-time jobs for more than 25 years to support her growing family. Her love knew no bounds, and even when grown it was virtually impossible for her children to leave home after visits without a care package. 

Her giving spirit extended beyond her children. Shirley provided care packages to anyone who came to the house, family or otherwise, and would bring a gift to any person she visited. At the same time, she was also a dedicated sister and daughter. Shirley sponsored many of her relatives to come to Canada, and welcomed them into the family home until they were well-established enough to head out on their own. She also spent many years caring for her own elderly mother. Our beloved mother could never do enough for her family. When Shirley wasn't working, taking care of her family or generously helping her numerous
friends and neighbours, she could often be found gardening in the backyard or enjoying a delicious bowl of noodles.

Shirley loved being a grandmother, and doted on her two grandchildren. She always ensured that they would receive their presents on time, and wore the biggest, most beautiful smile when in their presence, seeing their pictures or hearing about them. A private gathering for family will be held to honour Shirley. In her memory, please consider making a donation to your local food bank, a cause very dear to her heart.
