With heavy hearts the family of Terrence "Terry" James Sing announce his passing at the Ottawa Heart Institute on Sunday,  April 9, 2023.

Lovingly remembered by his spouse of 26 years, Cleo Harvey.  He will be deeply missed by daughters Barbara Robson (Paul), Tania O’Hara and grandchildren Thomas and Delaney.  Also a loving influence to Cleo’s children, (late) David Harvey, Cheryl Dawson (David), Dawn (late Michael Bertrand) and Cleo’s grandchildren Jason, Angela, Marshall, Christine, Gary and their families.

Terry’s career path in Public Service included metallurgy, meteorology, information technology, computer design and security before changing to the private sector as an employment counsellor.

A life dedicated to serving and improving the lives of others, Terry was a proud and active member in countless organizations past and present including; Boys and Girls Club, Nepean Housing Corporation, Data Processing Institute, treasurer of Public Service and Procurement Canada, National Vice President for Retired Members Guild, PIPS, Ottawa council on Aging, National Association of Federal Retirees where he served on various committees and was presented the Life Membership Award.

Terry’s diverse knowledge, experience, kind and generous nature made him an integral force and mentor to so many people.

Terry was an avid reader and movie buff.  He enjoyed food and travel experiences in the company of friends and family and those he met along the way.  Although sensitive to the hardships in life, he embraced every opportunity to laugh and live life to the fullest.  Family, friends and acquaintances will feel the loss of this extraordinary man and the wisdom and love he shared.

Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue (at Richmond Road) Ottawa, on Sunday, April 16th from 1-3pm and 6-8pm and on Monday, April 17th after 9:30am until the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11am.   The Funeral Service will be LiveStreamed.  For those who wish to participate remotely, please use the link below:
