"Betty"
Pinsent
(Morrison)
After a life well lived, Mom passed away peacefully on June 7, 2022. She had struggled with her health since January and was so ready for her Saviour to call her Home.
Betty was born in Ottawa on December 27, 1930, the eldest of 3 children. She was the beloved wife of Andy Pinsent (predeceased 2019) for 67 years, dearly loved mother of Debbie Peterson (Bryan McConachie) and Andrea Vornbrock. Cherished Nan of Jami Rundle (Tristan), Trevor Vornbrock (Jolene) and Jordan Vornbrock (Van Pham). Darling great-grandmother to Audrey Rundle and Nic Vornbrock. She was predeceased by her parents Gardiner (1951) and Thelma (1958). She is survived by her brother Wayne Morrison (Margaret) and her sister Dawn Ginter (the late John).
Throughout her life Mom was the homemaker, the organizer, the church volunteer, the billet mom to her 67’s hockey sons, the family memory bank, the confidante and keeper of secrets large and small, the healer of broken hearts, and so much more. She was happiest surrounded by family, especially her grandchildren and then her great grands. She always had time for everyone. She will be dearly missed by nieces, nephews, and so many friends.
Our sincere gratitude to her medical teams since January – at the Civic, St. Vincent’s and finally Greystone Village. The love and compassion shown to Mom by everyone was exemplary. She always had a smile and a thank you for everyone. She was also buoyed by the love and prayers of so many across Canada and the States.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the building fund at Alta Vista Baptist Church in Betty’s memory would be gratefully accepted.
Friends are invited to the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor) on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 2-4 & 7-9 and on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Alta Vista Baptist Church, 887 Canterbury Avenue from 10 am until the funeral service at 11 am. Interment of Mom and Dad will follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
Streaming of the service will be available at https://youtu.be/UdcZDcr5Olw
Mom – you were loved beyond measure. As you are reunited with Dad your tears of sorrow are now tears of joy.
