Obituary for Thomas Edward "Tom, Tommy, Pottie" DeRosa

Thomas Edward DeRosa (Tom, Tommy, Pottie) was born on March 18, 1941, in Yonkers, New York. He passed away in Ottawa, Ontario on Thursday, November 12, 2020.

Tom lived a full life with his wife Beatrice (Bea), children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, nieces, nephews, and friends throughout Canada and the United States. Tom was a lover. A dog lover. A beer lover. A spicy food lover. He was an outdoor enthusiast, who left his hiking boot prints across Canada and the US with his wife Bea and dogs Buster and Jack. He was a supportive and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a good friend to us all. When his wife Bea was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, his love and care for Bea, during very trying times, reinforced what an amazing human being he truly was.

He is painfully missed and survived by his family: Bea, Jack, Susan, Brad, Kaitlyn, Brendan, Luke, Ryan, Cindy, Simon, Matthew, Conner, Max, Michelle, Rick, Gina, Matthew, Samantha, Alexa, Brody, Tom, Kim, Ava, Tommy, Mellisa, Johnny, Michelle, Aubry, Patricia, Jeffrey, Lauren, Jeffrey, Harry, Linda, David, Amy, Betty, Anthony, Michael, Karen, Bob, Peggy, Steve, Stacy, Dennis, and Rob.

"We loved you every day you were here and will miss you every day you are not."

A celebration of Tom's life will be held both in-person, and remotely at Hulse, Playfair, and McGarry on December 5th at 2:00 pm EST.

Should you wish to attend in person, please call the funeral home at 613-728-1761 by December 3 to register your attendance, as space is limited. COVID-19 protocols will be observed, masks are mandatory as well as physical distancing.

For those who will be attending remotely, this is the Zoom Link and technical support provided if needed.

Donations in Tom's memory can be made at the Humane Society or to the
Alzheimer Society of Ottawa.
