The Reverend Canon William "Bill" Fairlie
Born in Windsor, Ontario, July 8, 1942 – Passed away peacefully in Ottawa, Ontario, January 4, 2020 due to complications from a brain injury, which occurred six months prior - Military Chaplain, Anglican priest in the Ottawa diocese, piper with the Air Force Pipes and Drums, and most recently the RCMP Pipes and Drums - Chaplain to Center 454 and volunteer with the Managing Alcohol Program at the Shepherds of Good Hope. He committed his life to helping others, especially the less fortunate, with an abundance of love and good humour. He leaves behind Anne, his bride of almost 46 years, daughter Andrea (Craig), grandchildren Tristan, Mariah, son Cameron, adopted son Billy Robertson (Robyn), as well as Captain Matt Gagné, sister Betty-Anne Maddocks, beloved nieces, nephews and cousins, especially Ronnie and Janet. Service is to be held at Christ Church Cathedral, 414 Sparks Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1R 0B2 on Saturday, January 11 at 2pm, with visitation from 1pm to 1:45pm. Reception in the church to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to Centre 454, Shepherds of Good Hope and the Elizabeth Bruyère Hospice.
