It is with great sadness that the family of Yvonne Bounsall (nee Pinsonnault) announce her sudden passing on March 7, 2020 in her 101st year. Predeceased by husband Alec, brother John and sister Bertha David, she is survived by daughters Ellen and Nancy, granddaughters Chelsea and Chloe, sister Cecile Jones, son-in-law Peter McAuslan and many nieces and nephews. Yvonne was born on April 25, 1919 in Cowansville, Quebec. She was the eldest daughter of Camille Pinsonnault a Klondike gold rush miner and farmer and Eva Savage of Chelsea, England. She never forgot her Eastern Townships roots and always had a healthy dose of regional maple syrup on her breakfast cereal each morning. Yvonne was active and fit all her life, playing golf at the Carleton Golf and Yacht Club and regularly attending fitness classes at the Ottawa Athletic Club until she was 95. According to her wishes, she has been cremated and burial will take place at the family plot in Cowansville at a later date. The family wishes to acknowledge the care and support given by the staff at Oakpark and Waterford Retirement Residences and the excellent care and compassion offered by Dr. Sayeed and his staff in the Emergency Room at the Ottawa General Hospital during her last few hours. For those who wish, donations may be made in Yvonne’s name to the Ottawa General Hospital Foundation or the Ottawa Humane Society.
