Obituary for
Milton Shaffer
Son of the late Mary and Abraham Shaffer, predeceased by brothers Irving (Browna), Harold (Frances), sister Beatrice (Bert ) Zagon, and survived by his brother Sheldon (Sonia). "Do not mourn my passing ...but rather celebrate my life." "A time to Live……. a time to Die" What a wonderful 98 years! I was blessed with luck to be born in Ottawa, Canada living through the best of days: birth of telephone, radio, TV, colour TV, computers, and smart phones, 5 cent ice cream cones, 2 for a penny candy and my parents always having a roof over my head, food on the table, more in the ice box . Yes, lucky to have met and married my loyal and devoted wife Sarah (nee Fine) who put up with me for over 73 years (and I know it wasn't easy!). Sarah gave birth to three wonderful daughters, Ingrid (the late Sam) Shapiro, Marilyn (Daniel) Kimmel and Wendy (Michael) Green. Our children in turn blessed us with 3 grandsons and 3 granddaughters, Doug, Kelly, David, Daniel, Linda and Robyn. From them,13 wonderful great-grandchildren were born: Thomas, Anne Marie, Emily, Lili, Luca, Ariella, Noam, Harel, Avishai, Jacob, Michael, Eli, and Gil. I know I will be missed daily by our wonderful love birds "Come bye" and "Mary" who brightened our lives. If you can, come to my send-off at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Agudath Israel Synagogue, 1400 Coldrey Avenue, Ottawa, and you can renew your friendship with my family and friends. Interment at the Jewish Memorial Gardens, 2692 Bank St. Ottawa. So 'Shalom ', 'Au Revoir ', 'Hasta La Vista',' til we meet again (later, not sooner). I hope you all have a good, happy and healthy life. Milton's family would like to give special thanks to The May Court Hospice for the compassionate and loving care they gave our Dad.
