Condolences

Condolence From: Cindy Bolton
Condolence: Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Dr. Mary Jerrett. I was a nursing student at Queen's University in the 80s and Mary was my Professor and Clinical Leader for pediatrics. She was a great child advocate and clinical teacher. She believed in, and taught, the philosophy of patient and family-centred care. She inspired me to begin my nursing career in pediatrics and she never failed to be supportive and excited about the direction of my career throughout the years.

I am sorry for your loss.

Condolence: Mary, you and I had our moments over the years. No one could give it back as good as you, which only helped me later in life. The two things you gave me were a love of travel, and from your time in Scotland, my strong sense of Anglophilia. Thank you for being my aunt, and giving me those gifts. While many will be feeling an overwhelming sense of sadness at this moment, I know you will be quite the opposite. You'll be with your parents, your brother, and my father, talking about the old times and continuing that strong spirit in a place as evidenced by your gregarious laughter. Be well. Keep traveling...

Condolence: It is with great sadness that I write this note as a tribute to a wonderful aunt. She was always there for us, especially her nieces and nephews. She was an amazing role model and always was quick to guide us and care for us. She taught me to make an amazing grilled cheese sandwich, shared her closet with me and shared her views on the feminist writer Starhawk with me. I was happy to be there in her final days. She was always brave and dignified and I, like many, admired her greatly. Rest in peace Auntie.
