I left a bit

                                                                        suddenly you see

                                                                  The fish were calling me

                                                                A whisper in the wind of life

                                                               From thence I would be freed

                                                             So I took my rod along with me

                                                         And all the burdens that carried me

                                                       To the best of all known fishing holes

                                                              Where love and light abound

                                                                   To catch a trout or two

                                                                          For me and you

                                                                           So when they

                                                                      come and ask for me

                                                               Please tell ‘em I went fishing

                                                                             When you

                                                                       come and visit me

                                                                 At the river I’ll be standing

                                                             Until again together we shall be

                                                         My heart and soul shall be with thee

                                                          Please know I feel your love for me

                                                          And boundless love I have for thee

                                                              Try not to be too sad for me

                                                                       And if they come

                                                                         and ask for me

                                                                   Tell ‘em I went fishing

                                                       And maybe this is how it ought to be

                                                                                 Till then

                                                                       It may seem far away

                                                               So if you need me close to thee

                                                          Pick up my rod and come fly with me

                                                         To the place where God has taken me

                                                            And let me hold your rod for thee

                                                              A minute, maybe two or three

                                                                    You just might hear me
