Condolence: I was saddened to learn of Anita's passing. She was a consummate professional, a joy to work with, and a mentor to all who wished to improve their writing skills. In retirement, she worked tirelessly to make the proud history of Wakefield better known. Above all, she was a great friend to all who had the great fortune to know her.

Condolence: I was very sad to learn about the passing of Anita Rutledge, a long-time colleague and friend whom I met when we worked at the former Department of Manpower and Immigration so many years ago. She was a skilled editor who went about her business in a calm and skillful manner in the hurly-burly of deadlines and all the challenges that come with publishing everything from news releases to books. She was the editor you wanted on your team. She made things happen. To her family, my sincerest condolences.

Condolence From: Paul Harris
Condolence: My sincere condolences to the family members of Anita Rutledge. Anita was a longtime colleague of mine at the Dept. of Manpower and Immigration, where she endeared herself to so many of us through her friendship, kindness, gracious manner, and benevolence to all her co-workers. Her professional editing was superb and she passed on this gift to others. She is a great loss to so many of her friends. I am reminded of a Scottish poet who once said " To live in the hearts of those you leave behind is not to die". In this sense Anita lives on in our memories and hearts.

Condolence From: Emilie Moodie
Condolence: So sad to hear of Anita's passing. Among her many talents was her ability to adapt to a new job. In the "early 50's" she became, although untrained, a wonderful teacher at the one room Fairbairn School. She touched my life.
Love, Emilie Moodie (nee Fairbairn)

I will miss our chats and friendship in recent years.
