Condolence From: Ian Farooque
Condolence: Dear Erin, Ruby and family,

Ian was my 1L Contracts Law Professor. I loved his non-traditional approach to teaching. He had the ability to effortlessly weave everyone from Kant to Bill Bragg into his lectures. It was a joy to be his student. He frequently mentioned his family in class and his love for you all was hard to miss. I am so sorry for your loss - my deepest condolences.

Condolence: Dear Erin, Ruby and family,

I was so sorry to hear about Ian's passing. I wanted to share two memories which I hope will bring you some comfort.

I played music with Ian a number of years ago for a "law music" gig put together by Albert Chang. I was very new to playing keyboards in a band and Ian was the seasoned pro. Our rehearsals were fun, collaborative and filled with laughter (and bad jokes, of course). Ian had an ease with himself and others which was remarkable (not to mention his remarkable drumming talents which he would want me to emphasize).

Shortly after this gig, Ruby arrived. When Ruby was two or three years old, Ian took her to swimming lessons at the Argyle YMCA. I was swimming laps one Saturday morning and as I flipped at the end of the lane, I caught a glimpse of Ian carrying Ruby on the pool deck towards the kiddie pool. I saw them for only a moment (and they did not see me), but I will always treasure that "snapshot". Two heads of curly hair, thrown back in laughter, coconspirators taking on the world. It was a picture of pure joy and love.

Wishing you all the best during this terrible time,
Laura

Condolence: We are so sorry for your loss. Ian was a great man who was kind, caring and full of life. He was always available for hosting playdates with Ruby and our daughter for which we were so grateful. He was an inspiration to just how much we should enjoy life to it's fullest. He will be missed by many. Our deepest sympathies to you all.

Condolence: I was so sorry to hear of Ian's passing. I met him while I was a DOJ lawyer working in the field of privacy. He was innovative, enthusiastic, funny, smart and friendly. I enjoyed working with him tremendously. I well remember his joy and pride at the birth of Ruby. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies. He leaves a hole in the world.
