We were devastated when we heard the news of Mel's passing. Our heartfelt love and prayers are with all of you. Mel was more than a friend to us - he was family. We admired his love and devotion to his family, his kindness and support to his friends and his willingness to help even a stranger. He had the biggest heart we've ever known. You couldn't have asked for a better husband, Dad, or loving Poppa. I have never met a more kind, caring, loving and FUNNY person. I always looked forwarded to raking leaves up at the cottage every Spring when he was up there because I knew I would be treated to so many funny stories and jokes. He prided himself on his family and his wife and it was evident to me since the day I met him.
