Condolence: Mom and I would like to send our condolences and sympathy to Doris, Barb, Anne and their families on the death of Mel. We were both very sorry to hear about his death. He had a good, extended life full of accomplishments. It is always very sad when such a loss occurs. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

Condolence: We want to extend our sincere condolences on Mel's passing. As long time residents, at many community social events over the years, we enjoyed his congeniality and sense of humour. We shall miss him.

Condolence: Dear Doris, Anne, Barb and family; I was heartbroken to hear of Mel's recent passing. My heart goes out to all of you at this sad time. When someone we loves becomes a memory, oh what wonderful memories they will be! Mel was the best Husband, Father, Pappa and Friend that anyone could ever hope for. He was an inspiration to me and my children and we will all miss his wisdom and his infectious laugh. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.......Love Diane xo

Condolence: Dear Doris, Barb, Anne, Bruce, Erin, Shannon, Amanda, Kirk and Trevor
We were devastated when we heard the news of Mel's passing. Our heartfelt love and prayers are with all of you. Mel was more than a friend to us - he was family. We admired his love and devotion to his family, his kindness and support to his friends and his willingness to help even a stranger. He had the biggest heart we've ever known. Most of all we will miss his sense of humor. His laugh resonated around the lake. Black Bass Bay will never be the same without him. We thank him for his love, we thank him for his support, and we thank him for his service to our country! Rest in peace our dearly loved friend. Love and friendship Barb and Wayne

Condolence: Dear Doris, Anne, Kirk, Trevor, Barb, Erin, Shannon and Amanda, I was so saddened to learn of Mel's passing. My heart is aching for all of you. You couldn't have asked for a better husband, Dad, or loving Poppa. I have never met a more kind, caring, loving and FUNNY person. I always looked forwarded to raking leaves up at the cottage every Spring when he was up there because I knew I would be treated to so many funny stories and jokes. We got each others sense of humour and that is something I will sorely miss. I know you have MANY wonderful memories of your own that will see you through the days ahead. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I will definitely be there for you on the 2nd. Take care, Love Linda

Condolence: Doris, Barb and Anne

I am so sorry for your loss. He was the greatest of men who exemplified all of the values and morals that all men should have. He prided himself on his family and his wife and it was evident to me since the day I met him. The love and kindness you have for each other and everyone around you is proof that he made this world better for having been in it and you have done the same thing through your children. I am thinking of you and the whole family as you celebrate and remember one of the greatest men that I have ever met.
