In my years at OSFI, the days that I went to request help of dear Ed Shannon, I returned to my post with a sense ofhappiness and a laughter. Being a first generation immigrant of Indian origin still not soaked into the western culture, because in those years of 1968 etc., when I came to Canada, there was no orientation course for immigrants.
Ed's sense of homour enabled me to articulate what I wanted. Compassion flowed from his heart and never once was there a hesitation despite all the work Ed was handling. Ed knew just about all the people at OSFI - and their needs. The Good Lord had endowed Ed with those great looks and generosity.
All who knew Ed will miss James Shannon very dearly.
May his soul rest in peace.
