Born in Toronto, Ontario on April 3, 1914, Grace Chappell. Passed away April 13, 2014 in Ottawa, Ontario. Devoted wife of former Member of Parliament (Peel South) Hyliard Chappell (March 6, 1988). Loving mother to Richard (Jan Snable)) of Bahamas, Minden and Gracefield and Marcia Gifford (Howie) of Ottawa. Proud grandmother to Kate Chappell (Jamaica), Jennifer Chappell (Ottawa), Laura Wheeler (Victor) of Chelsea and Georgia Wheeler Anderson (Ian) of Australia. Sister to Robert (Retta), Grace will be missed by many friends and relatives the world over, as she was an avid traveller. Grace was also a proponent of environmental conservation and was a patron of the Riverwood Conservancy. A special thank you to the wonderful staff and Grace's many friends at New Edinburgh Square as well as Shirley, Fadime, Nisha and Barbara. You made her end life so rich and happy. To Dr. Biro and his caring staff at Beacon Heights Retirement Home our heartfelt thanks for a peaceful ending. To the wonderful ladies at Retire-at-Home and particularly Jane, Beverley, Jill and Myrtle, you were there for her throughout the last many months and it made a huge difference. Lastly, we want her long-time caregiver Patti Manness to know how deeply we appreciate her time with our Grace. Grace will be cremated to be followed by a memorial service and interment at Parklawn Cemetery, Toronto in June 2014. Donations to the Riverwood Conservancy, 4300 Riverwood Park Lane, Mississauga ON L5C 2S7 would be welcomed as protecting area this was a lifelong endeavour of Grace.
