Obituary for Claire Manning ApSimon
Claire Manning ApSimon passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday March 18, 2020 at the age of 82. With her were her daughter Joanne holding her hand, and the father of her children John ApSimon. Michele and Paul arrived quickly thereafter.
Claire is sadly missed by her children, Joanne ApSimon, Paul ApSimon (Alina Florea) and Michele ApSimon (Don King). Claire was the proud Grandmaman of five grandchildren, Matisse, Maya and Bianca ApSimon-Megens, Justin and Nicholas King. Claire leaves behind her two sisters Denise Manning (Kayote Ogunnaike), Sylvia Manning Baumgartner (Holger Baumgartner) and her brother Eric Manning (Barbara Dube).
Claire wore many hats living each and every moment to the fullest. She was a mother, grandmother, teacher, a lover of music, synchronized swimming coach, an avid Scottish country dancer, serious aquafitter and detailed storyteller. She was an enthusiatic lover of flashlights, magnets and birdfeeders.
A memorial service will be planned on her birthday, September 3, 2020 – details to follow.
Our family thanks all the dedicated friends and family who shared and showed up to support her during her years of illness. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to your local food bank.
