Condolences

Condolence From: Noel and Linda Keeley
Condolence: A beautiful and very apt Obituary, Laurence, Anne and Tamara. Our heartfelt condolences to all of you and to June and Fred's grandchildren and great grandchildren. June and Fred were a special couple in our lives (and continue to be in memory). As part of the O'Toole and Keeley family, we remember with great fondness the almost weekly get-togethers in our early years in Canada. Fred's piano and accordion playing and June and Fred's wonderful vocals will always ring in our ears, as will a popular "song of the day", "A White Sportscoat and a Pink Carnation", something approximating which I (Noel) wore on their Wedding Day. As happens with one's busy family, the visits became less frequent over the years, reduced, for the most part, to Weddings and Funerals. We last had occasion to chat with June on the sad occasion of Fred's Passing in September of 2017. But in the years leading up to your Dad's Passing, we did reconnect on a weekly basis with the two of them on their visits to the Glebe Centre, where they brought great joy to the residents (one of whom was Linda's Mom). We know you can take solace in the wonderful life they shared and in just how proud they were of each of you. We shall always remember the two of them and the joy and happiness they brought to our own lives. They leave behind a legacy of love and devotion to their family and to their community. We are only sorry that in this era of COVID-19, we are deprived of the opportunity to greet you all personally with our expression of just what a grand couple Fred and June were (and will always be in their time and space under the heavens).
On behalf of all of the Keeley Family, we extend to each one of you our heartfelt condolences and our personal gratitude for the time that we did spend with them.
Love and hugs,
The Keeleys

Condolence From: Susan McLaughlin
Condolence: Tamara, Anne and Lawrence, I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mom held a special place in my heart because of her heart.

When my girls were In Irish dancing I would see your Mom at the community shows where she always fawned over my girls and repeated regularly “isn’t that lovely”.

When the movie Mrs. Doubtfire came out, Robin Williams nurturing and caring voice Instantly reminded me of Auntie June’s lovely manner of speaking. We all use the “lovely” word a lot now (according to my kids).

My earliest and fondest memory of Auntie June was when I was probably 4 years old and June was hosting a baby shower for my Mom. I was feeling overlooked and Auntie June took time to talk to me and she whipped out a bottle of nail polish and painted my nails. I was so thrilled, it really touched me and it still makes me smile and tear up at same time.

Sending hugs and prayers to each of you and your families at this time.

With love
Susan McLaughlin
