The universe greeted Sylvia when she died peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald Ashworth Smith. Sylvia, (nee Pringle) is survived by daughter, Lori Mattice (Art) and son, Stephen (Marcia). Grandchildren Tasha Jey, Marlon and Mikayla, Orlando, Jenny and Victor (Chantal) and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Bill and Bernice Pringle, brother Jimmy Pringle (Clara), sister Dawn Dorcas (Alvin). Will be greatly missed by sister, Greta Bruce (John Boone), and many cherished friends, nieces, nephews and extended families. Her loved ones wish to thank the professional caregivers on 5 East South Oncology unit at the Ottawa General Hospital for their compassionate care.

Friends are invited to a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until Sylvia’s Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. in the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road (at Aviation Parkway), Ottawa, on Wednesday, August 28th. A reception will follow. Private interment at the United Church Cemetery in Stanley, NB, date and time to be announced.
