Mr. Conrod Saw You
I graduated from Westmount High School in 1969. I had some fine teachers in my younger years; however my memories of connection with them feel remote. But Bill... he is the teacher who woke up an honest, thinking (and joking/caring!) relationship between him - representing the adult world - and me - representing myself, the fraz-brained teenager. My impression of myself was as a feeling, expressing, arty kind of person...but his open/inclusive/happy teaching style revealed the world of biology as not only accessible, but fascinating. He saw you; made you feel confident about learning and about growing up. I spent a year in university in Biology because of him. Although I went on to an arty/communication focus in my education and work, I still feel gratitude for his unhurried optimism and interest. Bill Conrod, I salute you, and would have liked to give you a hug at our upcoming 50 year WHS reunion in 2019. My sincere condolences to all the Conrod family and friends. Many thanks for the opportunity to share my fond memories, Catherine Marshall Aurora, ON
