He knew his tunes!

It was ten years ago or so when I started attending the Cape Breton sessions, and I soon noticed that Allan was always there, with his unmistakeable twinkle and honestly, he could have just strolled in from The Shire in MiddleEarth. If I played a solo set, he would often accost me and discuss the names and origins of some of the tunes, usually knowing far more about them than I did (or anyone did, probably). It was a few years before he mentioned that he was also my friend Duncan's dad; I shouldn't have been surprised, the Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I'll miss seeing Allan at every gathering of Capers that I get to! Godspeed.
